Do you wake up with a crook in your neck, back problems, or just not feeling your best?  The problem may be your pillow.  Below I’ve compiled some tips for choosing the perfect pillow for you according to what position your sleep in.

If you sleep on your back, you need a soft pillow for more support.

If you’re a side sleeper, choose a firm pillow over a more soft one.  Your neck will be better supported if the bottom edge of the pillow rests between your chin and shoulder.

If you’re more inclined to sleep on your stomach, sleeping on a thin, soft pillow is a smart choice.  This helps to keep your head aligned with your chest.  BTW, you may want to try sleeping in different positions every now and then to keep from putting too much strain on your neck caused by sleeping on your stomach.

For maximum support and comfort during the night, the pillow you sleep on should help to align your neck with your spine.  Also, your mattress and pillow should have opposite traits.  If you sleep on a firm mattress, buy a thin pillow.  If you own a soft mattress, choose a thick pillow.

Hope that helps.  You’ll be counting sheep or whatever in no time.

Remember to keep a healthy demeanor, inside and out.
